why wont my american express prepaid gift card work for online purchases?
I’M TRYING TO GET A NEW PAIR OF SNEAKERS ONLINE AND I BOUGHT AN AMERICAN EXPRESS PREPAID GIFT CARD AT A SUPERMARKET. I COME HOME AND I ENTER MY GIFT CARD NUMBER TO BUY THE SNEAKERS BUT IT WON’T WORK!!! why?????? please help. i called american express for customer service and they asked for my name, address zip code. she said my gift card is available for online purchases but can i now??? she dosen’t even know my card number so how we should know ….. the cashier at the supermarket didn’t ask for my name/address and all that either.
its probably because you have AOL? !!! lol o sorry.
you need to make sure that the online company accepts that type of card first. not to many do. you can always take it off that card and get a visa or master card gift card.
if they do take american make sure that’s the one it is being charged to(click on american express)
